GATHERINGS OF ASSOCIATIONS OF ITALIANS IN BIH:
THE FIRST GATHERING IN LIVO IN 2008
The first gathering of Italian associations from BiH was organized in Livno (Hotel Dinara 27-29.3.2008), during which a framework strategy for joint action was defined, which was realized in the later years of the work of all associations. The participants were representatives of associations from Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Štivore and Tuzla, and there were also Italians from Zenica, a city where there is no established association of Italians.
ASSOCIATION MEETING IN ŠTIVOR IN 2008
The meeting of the BiH Association of Italians was held on August 23, 2008. in Štivor. In addition to guests from the province of Trento, and representatives of the OSCE, the session was attended by representatives of the Association of Italians in Tuzla, Sarajevo, Banja Luka and the hosts, the Association of Italians Štivor. On this occasion, too, various issues faced by certain associations were discussed, but the priority was on the issues of the proposal of the Law on National Minorities in BiH, where certain proposals and conclusions were made, as well as the regular, unavoidable topic of preserving and improving good relations between associations in BiH. In the conversation with the guests from Italy, they exchanged opinions and experiences about the cooperation so far and expressed the desire and need for stronger cooperation with the home country. Like the previous ones, this session was held in the spirit of understanding, tolerance and good mood among the participants.
MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION OF ITALIANS FROM BIH IN BANJA LUCA IN 2010
The meeting of all Italian associations of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held on November 13, 2010. in Banja Luka, which was organized to look at the possibilities of improving cooperation with the Embassy of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, considering that the Embassy does not financially support the initiatives and activities implemented by the associations. They also discussed the need for improvement and joint cooperation between the four associations with a special emphasis on the cooperation of members, exchange of information from the level of the Council / Council of National Minorities, future activities of the association, potential joint projects of Italian associations in BiH and others.
MEETING AT THE ITALIAN EMBASSY IN SARAJEVO ON FEBRUARY 7, 2011
On February 7, 2011, at the initiative of the Embassy of Italy in BiH, and as a response to the Platform of four associations, which was adopted at the meeting in Banja Luka on November 13, 2011. year, a meeting of four associations of Italians in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held with representatives of the Embassy. The aim of the meeting is to establish better relations between the Embassy and the Association, and to familiarize the Embassy with the activities of all four associations. Association delegations were represented by two members each (president and one member). The meeting was led by Dott.ssa. Alessandra Moschitta - the second secretary of the embassy, and also present were the cultural attaché and lecturer of the Italian language at the Faculty of Philosophy, Prof. Daniele Onori and Consul Oriett
One of the results of the meeting with the embassy was the invitation of the embassy to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, where all the presidents of the association of Italians in Bosnia and Herzegovina were invited.
At the end of the meeting, it was concluded that minutes will be drawn up on the occasion of the meeting at the Embassy, and that they will be delivered to all associations. To date, the embassy has not done that.
PARTICIPATION IN THE CELEBRATION OF 130 YEARS OF THE ARRIVAL OF ITALIANS IN BIH
In commemorating the 130th year of the arrival of the Italians, the association of Italians from Štivor took over the key organization because the event took place on 23.6.2012. in Štivor and Prnjavor, in the area of activity of the association. Other associations contributed by presenting their presence and activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as appropriate speeches by association representatives about the association's work in Štivor, Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Tuzla. Larger groups of members of the association came by bus, and the members attended the solemn mass in the church in Štivor, were at the ceremonial lunch, and later at the central meeting in the House of Culture in Prnjavor. On the occasion of the event, a suitable ceramic medallion was made, four unified panels were made with photos of Italians from each association, and the association from Štivor provided special gifts for the officials and guests. The event was covered by the media, and a large number of articles about the event were published.
