The presence of Italians in Tuzla and the region left a significant mark that built a model of common life in Tuzla in a special way and laid the foundations of a joint struggle for the realization of workers' rights and for freedom from fascism in World War II. The round table entitled "The Workers' Movement and the National Liberation War in Tuzla - the participation of Italians" was held at the Tuzla Cultural Center - Chamber Stage on July 31, 2025. The round table was also held on the occasion of July 27, in cooperation and with the support of the Tuzla Cultural Center. The participants - presenters at the round table were Senad Begović (Cultural Center Tuzla), Kadrija Hodžić (professor at the University of Tuzla, member of the Italian Association), Edina Pirić (Union of Anti-Fascists and NOR Fighters of the Tuzla Canton) and Tihomir Knežiček (professor at the University of Tuzla and president of the Italian Association). The round table was a session that discussed and documented the participation of Italians from Tuzla, and their comrades, in the labor movement before the beginning of World War II, as well as their contribution to the NOB in the Tuzla brigades. The memorial culture of remembrance of Italians from Tuzla and their collaborators was presented, the influence of Italians on the formation of a model of unity, as well as the current perspective of preserving the culture of remembrance by visiting memorials to fighters and workers' stands. The round table presented personalities of Italian origin who contributed to the labor movement and the NOB in Tuzla - members of the Bancher, Mott, Zamboni and Segat families.
